Lazy Hammock is the artist project of Lucie Burns, a recording artist, composer, songwriter and producer with a career spanning 30 years, encompassing international releases, live performances , original music and collaborations.
With over 25 million streams worldwide, 11 albums and four No.1 singles in the World Chill Lounge charts, Lucie has developed a distinctive sound that blends elements of chillout, electronica, downtempo and soulful influences. Her music has been released through renowned labels including Sony BMG, EMI, Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi and Diventa Music, with tracks featured on thousands of compilation albums worldwide.
Alongside her studio work, Lucie has performed extensively as a live artist, both as a solo performer and with her band, as well as DJing at high-profile events across the UK, Ibiza and internationally.
The Handpan: A New Chapter in Sound
Lucie’s musical journey has recently evolved towards the raw beauty and intimacy of the handpan. This deeply resonant instrument offers a different way of expressing emotion through sound, allowing space, texture and feeling to take centre stage.
Through handpan performance and live improvisation, Lucie explores a more organic and present approach to music, creating moments that invite reflection, connection and a deeper listening experience.
Alongside her live performances, Lucie is also creating fully produced handpan compositions, blending the organic tones of the instrument with carefully crafted layers of instrumentation, production and arrangement. Drawing on her experience as a composer and producer, these pieces bring together the natural expression of the handpan with rich, emotive sound worlds designed to evoke the senses and create a feeling of calm, presence and openness.
